Lillishield is designed to protect crops from heat stress using advanced, biodegradable, and biocompatible materials. It was developed through years of one-on-one work with farmers, with a focus on applying cutting-edge materials science to agriculture, and is continuously refined using field data from diverse productive conditions.
Strategic Vision, Execution & Fundraising
Mauricio holds a Ph.D. in Geography and an M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering. He has helped build and scale four AgTech startups focused on sustainable production and supply chain optimization. Over more than 20 years, he has implemented dozens of climate adaptation strategies and technology transfer programs with farmers and NGOs across diverse contexts.
Technology Innovation & Product Design
Co-inventor of Lilliput’s patented technology. Laura is an industrial chemist and polymer scientist with 8+ years of experience leading R&D in polymer science and nanotechnology startups. She has strong expertise in IP strategy (patent filing, prosecution, and licensing), CRO management, and in translating advanced materials into scalable, manufacturable products.
Technology Validation and Product Optimization
Co-inventor of Lilliput’s patented technology. Andrea holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Geochemistry and has over 10 years of experience across chemistry, plant physiology, and environmental science. Her work focuses on developing sustainable, materials-based solutions to enhance plant resilience, supported by 12+ peer-reviewed publications and extensive applied research experience.

Lilliput Technologies was founded with the mission of helping farmers thrive in a changing climate by creating environmentally- and farmer-friendly technologies.
Inspired by the tiny but mighty Lilliputians of Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels", we harness state-of-the-art materials science and engineering at the micro and nanoscale to maximize positive impact for crops, farmers, and the environment.
After 16 months of technical and commercial derisking, we launched in May 2024 as a spin-out company from Deep Science Ventures with key investments from DSV and the Voyagers Climate Tech Fund.
We are registered in the United Kingdom and Costa Rica, where our R&D operations are strategically located. Our presence on both sides of the Atlantic provides access to a global network of commercial partners, markets, and year-round, cost-efficient product R&D and testing facilities.
Are you interested in testing our technology or helping us accelerate its development?
Are you a grower or know a grower already feeling the impact of rising temperatures?
Or are you part of an organization looking to accelerate climate resilience in agriculture?
If you're interested in piloting our tech or helping us bring it to market in a crop you care about, we’d love to talk.
